Week of 3/10 – 3/17/2024
This week was a very interesting week, we worked on the software design documentation (SDD) for our generative adversarial network (GAN) that we are building for our capstone project at Full Sail University. The initial design of the software went well, and we are meeting with our producer early next week to go over specifics and create a list of concerns to revisit. We created a list of features that were required to make our project a reality and a list of features that would be nice to have, however, none of us have created a GAN before so we are not 100% sure on the timeline of what we can get done. We may have more than enough time to get each of the features we created for need and want done, or we may run into unforeseeable issues that delay us. To combat this the group have been doing LinkedIn learning classes on various subjects to brush up on some of the skills required for this project.
On top of the SDD we also created a UX/Style Tile with a color scheme, text standards and some buttons to help guide the design of the software the user will be interacting with. Our goal is to not just make the GAN but also allow the user to easily understand what they need to do to make it work.
We have sourced open source images to train our network, we were originally going to train the network on a 70,000 image set, but due to time constraints and financial constraints we have tossed the idea around of using the reduced dataset of 10,000 images which should make the training time much shorter.
I have attached our software design document v.1, we will be adjusting this in the coming weeks but this is what our team has come up with so far.
Happy Saint Patrick’s day!
